A Casual Ride is where riders meet, decide on a destination & organise themselves.

A RIC (rider in charge) will not always be present.


Saturday Coffee Morning and catchup from 10am - noon:

 DESTINATION RIDES 

Club Rides: There is a branch ride every Sunday. Distances (total) and time away (approximate) are provided. Rides will vary between distance rides (200km+) and rides to more local destinations. Something to suit everyone. Rides south and west leave from NPD (Lower Queen St Richmond), east from BP Haven Road. Departure will usually be 10.00am for pre ride chat and leaving 10.30am, unless otherwise noted.

Departs: NPD (Lower Queen St) Meet & greet 10.00am Departs 10.30am

First visit last May thoroughly enjoyed by all. Might be inside this time!

128 kms 2-3 hours

Sun Sep 1 Distance Ride Murchison and 6 Mile Walkway Picnic

260 kms 3 – 4 hours

Gerry Tonkin Adventure! Gery will lead us up a new road to the Six Mile Hydro Walkway which showcases the historic remains of the Six Mile Hydro Scheme, (sealed road to the carpark) The walk to the weir is 1.8 km on a very flat track apart from the initial bit where we have to walk up to the water race. We will have lunch at the car park (bring your own). May retire back to Rivers Café for Coffee. Website for Walkway: https://nelsontrails.co.nz/six-mile/

You may want to bring walking shoes and take off your motorcycle pants for this walk. We will keep someone with the bikes for security.

**Tue Sep 3: Club Night Armadillos, Richmond 6.00pm

$15 main meal. Food is excellent. GUEST SPEAKER Entertaining raconteur Trevor Nicholls will talk about his recent trip a round Aussie ride on a small bike.

200 kms 2-3 hours

Sun Sep 22: Distance Ride St Arnaud Alpine Lodge

260 kms 3 – 4 hours

Departs: NPD (Lower Queen St) Meet & greet 10.30am Departs 11.00am

The Lodge is a cosy venue in the winter. Nearby is a huge storage she where many of the Antique boats are kept from the boat show. Well worth a look. As is the Doc Information Centre if you have never been to it. Three options for the route home.

This is a truly amazing place. Like Founders Park but bigger and more intimate. Only a short distance but you will truly enjoy the destination!

Organised Rides have a stated destination, are generally longer and may take up to the whole day.

Club Rides There is a branch ride every Sunday. Distances (total) and time away (approximate) are provided. Rides will vary between distance rides (200km+) and rides to more local destinations. Something to suit everyone.

Casual Rides are also afternoon rides, where riders meet, decide on a destination, and organise themselves. There may be a Ride Leader assigned, but if there is not then the group determine this for themselves.

Insurance/ Liability​​​​​​​


The Club holds a public liability insurance which indemnifies the Club during officially posted Club events. This includes local runs and rallies sanctioned by the Branch. Members are expected to manage their own personal insurance responsibilities and have a road legal vehicle when participating in Club events.
