A Casual Ride is where riders meet, decide on a destination & organise themselves.

A RIC (rider in charge) will not always be present.

Club Rides: There is a branch ride every Saturday or Sunday. Distances (total) and time away (approximate) are provided. Rides will vary between distance rides (200km+) and rides to more local destinations. Something to suit everyone. Rides south and west leave from NPD (Lower Queen St Richmond), east from BP Haven Road. Departure will usually be 10.00am for pre ride chat and leaving 10.30am, unless otherwise noted.

Route: Inland highway / Edwards Road / Motueka Valley. Or any other way decided on the day.

Tuesday 7th July Club Night. Armadillo’s, Richmond. 6pm

QUIZ NIGHT Lots of fun questions! Chocolate prizes. Get into teams of two when you arrive.

Get your dinner ordered pronto. Quiz starts at 6pm precisely.


Saturday 11th July Overnighter to Murchison – THE GATHERING

A familiar destination but trying out a new watering hole. The pies look amazing!

Sunday 26th July – No planned Ride


That’s it for winter riding (might be a little optimistic to suggest winter is over). End of riding

every alternate Sunday and staying local. Planning Group have come up with a different

approach for August and September. Longer rides, earlier start times, alternatives in the ride.

* Check out the Waihopai Satellite Communication Facility. Waihopai Valley Road goes a looong

way on the map. Worth exploring? At least to the end of the seal?

* Lake Argyle Power Station. NB. Gravel road to access the lake.

* Straight to St Arnaud – Golden downs or Kawatiri Junction alternative home.

The Lyell creek is dripping with history. The graveyard tells a story of goldminer settlers. Fantastic nature area. On to Berlins for lunch.

Club Rides There is a branch ride every Saturday or Sunday. Distances (total) and time away (approximate) are provided. Rides will vary between distance rides (200km+) and rides to more local destinations. Something to suit everyone.

Casual Rides are also afternoon rides, where riders meet, decide on a destination, and organise themselves. There may be a Ride Leader assigned, but if there is not then the group determine this for themselves.

Insurance/ Liability​​​​​​​


The Club holds a public liability insurance which indemnifies the Club during officially posted Club events. This includes local runs and rallies sanctioned by the Branch. Members are expected to manage their own personal insurance responsibilities and have a road legal vehicle when participating in Club events.
