A Casual Ride is where riders meet, decide on a destination & organise themselves.

A RIC (rider in charge) will not always be present.


Saturday Coffee Morning and catchup from 10am - noon:

       PLEASE WEAR YOUR NAME BADGE  (to have a chance at the special draw prize, which happens at                                                                                                                                                                                random times).


 DESTINATION RIDES 

Club Rides: There is a branch ride every Saturday or Sunday. Distances (total) and time away (approximate) are provided. Rides will vary between distance rides (200km+) and rides to more local destinations. Something to suit everyone. Rides south and west leave from NPD (Lower Queen St Richmond), east from BP Haven Road. Departure will usually be 10.00am for pre ride chat and leaving 10.30am, unless otherwise noted.

 Sun Oct 26 Wakefield Bakery

One of the region’s most outstanding bakeries. Two loop options to choose from. Both going over Spooner’s hill, then either left onto Valley Rd, to Stock Road, then 88 Valley Rd or further on SH6 to Motupiko, left onto Korere-Tophouse Rd, up over Kerr Hill Rd, follow back to 88 Valley Rd.

Sun Nov 2 Top of the South Halls

A Gerry Tonkin adventure This Ride was inspired by the TT 2000 Rally, where an option was to visit just about all the Halls in the South Island . Sunday 13 July , we will visit 11 Halls in our patch . Total distance according to my GPS is 240 km and 3. 5 hours .

This ride has been twice cancelled because of bad weather. We are wishing good luck this time!

Tue Nov 4 Club Night Armadillos, Richmond

The last club night for the year. None in December or January. Bring a 5 minute story. Doesn’t have to be about motorcycling. An opportunity to spin a yarn and generate a few laughs.

If you want to bring mages to go with your yarn, bring them on a data stick.

Be on time to order food at 6pm.


Sun Nov 9 Old School House Café, Pakawau

A great ride right across Golden Bay. Delightful café – the original school building for the district. Converted to a Café 20 years ago.

Meet at NPD Lower Queen St 10.00am . Stands up at 10.30 am


Sat Nov 15 40th ULYSSES NELSON TOY RUN

No Alioke coffee today. Meet at Papps Car park, Cambridge St, Richmond from10am. This is the Ulysses Nelson event you must attend. Bring toys for boys and girls. Lots of raffle prizes! ($5 tickets) BBQ (gold coin donation). Decorate your bike! Prize for best decorated.

Parade leaves exactly at 11am.

This year we will have controlled traffic lights and roundabouts


Sat Nov 22 Wild Weasel, Rai Valley (formerly Miller’sRest)

Departing from Alioke at 11.30am


Sun Nov 30 AED ride (Automatic External Device)

Also known as a defibrillator. Mission is to visit nine remote AEDs. This ride may save your life of a fellow rider’s. Yes, riders have died because no one knew where the nearest AED was located.

Meet at NPD Lower Queen St 9 .00am . Stands up at 9.30 am

Organised Rides have a stated destination, are generally longer and may take up to the whole day.

Club Rides There is a branch ride every Saturday or Sunday. Distances (total) and time away (approximate) are provided. Rides will vary between distance rides (200km+) and rides to more local destinations. Something to suit everyone.

Casual Rides are also afternoon rides, where riders meet, decide on a destination, and organise themselves. There may be a Ride Leader assigned, but if there is not then the group determine this for themselves.

Insurance/ Liability​​​​​​​


The Club holds a public liability insurance which indemnifies the Club during officially posted Club events. This includes local runs and rallies sanctioned by the Branch. Members are expected to manage their own personal insurance responsibilities and have a road legal vehicle when participating in Club events.
