A Casual Ride is where riders meet, decide on a destination & organise themselves.

A RIC (rider in charge) will not always be present.


Saturday Coffee Morning and catchup from 10am - noon:

4A Central Park Lane, off Berryfield Drive,  Richmond.


       PLEASE WEAR YOUR NAME BADGE  (to have a chance at the special draw prize, which happens at                                                                                                                                                                                random times).


 DESTINATION RIDES 

Club Rides: There is a branch ride every Saturday or Sunday. Distances (total) and time away (approximate) are provided. Rides will vary between distance rides (200km+) and rides to more local destinations. Something to suit everyone. Rides south and west leave from NPD (Lower Queen St Richmond), east from BP Haven Road. Departure will usually be 10.00am for pre ride chat and leaving 10.30am, unless otherwise noted.

Tue Mar 3 : Ulysses Nelson Club Night. Armadillos 6pm

Theme: A tool too far.

First one for 2026. We still have access to the senior $15 menu. Gerry Tonkin  will give 15 minute talk about his favourite tools. He has a few and will be bringing a lot!

Please get therein time to put your food order in by 6pm


Sun 8th March Okiwi Bay

Picnic Ride. Bring your own lunch. A regular favouriate for a summer season ride. Twisty road in and out, but sealed all the way.

Meet at BP Haven Road   10.30am Stands up at 11.00 am


Sun 15th March Phoenix Café and Bar, Renwick via St Arnaud

Great opportunity to give the bike  bit of a stretch., We will go the long way, via Kerr’s Hill to St Arnaud intersection then down the Wairau Valley to Renwick.

Meet at NPD Lower Queen St   9.30am . Stands up at 10.00 am


Sat 21st  March Affordable Ride. A Gerry Tonkin adventure

You will cross seven fords. The road to  and from them is sealed. There will be some short bursts of well packed gravel riding.  

Meet at Toad Hall, Motueka   9.00am . Stands up at 9.30 am


Sun 29th  March National AGM

You should be busy on Friday and Saturday night and recovering(!) on Sunday.


Sat 4th April Easter weekend 

Ride from Alioke after coffee. Destination to be decided  by riders on the day.

 Depart Alioke   11.00am-ish


Tue April 7 : Ulysses Nelson Club Night. Armadillos 6pm

Presentation to be announced.


Sun 12th  April  Pelorus Tavern

A favourite watering hole, always worth a visit.

Meet at BP Haven Road   10.30am Stands up at 11.00 am


Sun 19th April  Railway Memorabilia. A Gerry Tonkin adventure.

Organised Rides have a stated destination, are generally longer and may take up to the whole day.

Club Rides There is a branch ride every Saturday or Sunday. Distances (total) and time away (approximate) are provided. Rides will vary between distance rides (200km+) and rides to more local destinations. Something to suit everyone.

Casual Rides are also afternoon rides, where riders meet, decide on a destination, and organise themselves. There may be a Ride Leader assigned, but if there is not then the group determine this for themselves.

Insurance/ Liability​​​​​​​


The Club holds a public liability insurance which indemnifies the Club during officially posted Club events. This includes local runs and rallies sanctioned by the Branch. Members are expected to manage their own personal insurance responsibilities and have a road legal vehicle when participating in Club events.
