Ride Forever Background
Ride Forever is a certified on-road rider training scheme which was launched nationally in 2014. With ACC backing, it provides subsidised nationally-available training that is affordable for any rider. The subsidy is considered as an investment with a return in reduced accidents and associated claims costs. The Ride Forever website states that - “taking at least one Ride Forever course reduced the incidence of having a crash by 27% and the associated claims costs by 45%.”

Ride Forever Cashback Scheme
From 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2025, Ride Forever are running a pilot scheme where they will offer experienced riders (who are eligible) $200 cashback on their annual motorcycle registration. The cashback is paid in two $100 instalments over the two years once the Ride Forever courses are completed.

You must have held a full NZ Class 6 licence for at least 5 years, and payment is per person, not per bike.

You must complete two Ride Forever courses before you can apply for the cashback. These courses must be either one Silver and one Gold course, or two Gold courses.

Note: You can attend your second Ride Forever course in either your first or second year to qualify, but they must be at least 3 months apart.
